Prepare for medical school admission

Developed by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), the Medical College Admission Test® (MCAT®) is a standardized, multiple-choice, computer-based exam that has been part of the medical school admissions process for more than 90 years. Our MCAT course provides the materials and support to help you perform your best on the Medical College Admission Test and increase your chances for medical school acceptance. As you become familiar with the MCAT content in our all-inclusive, custom course, you will develop strategies to achieve success on the test.

Course Outline

36 Hours of In-Person Instruction

Students will master the content and refine their strategies at 12 high-impact, three-hour, in-person class sessions. Live instruction can be the most valuable component of any MCAT prep, so we are leveraging this time to provide the intensive, attentive learning that is simply not possible with self-study. These sessions integrate with the core video lessons as you move through the curriculum and will also adapt to your class' performance.

64 Hours of Video Lessons

Our course is built around 20 on-demand video lessons, each about two to three hours long, designed and taught by expert MCAT instructors. These core lessons are broken down into smaller, more manageable chunks to help students retain information better. Our interactive lesson videos are broken up by knowledge checkpoints and integrated quizzes to help reinforce the content being discussed. Quizzes include both MCAT-like multiple choice exams and content questions, including matching, word banks, diagram completion and more, to ensure you are getting the practice you need to succeed.

Live Online, Small-Group, Office Hours

Our course includes 240-plus hours of live instruction over the six months of online access via our live online, small-group, office hours. These two-hour sessions, held at least five times per week, are run by the same expert instructors you see in your lesson videos. Office hours are a mix of traditional college office hours and small group instructional sessions; they offer the best of both learning environments. Each office hours session has a dedicated topic being reviewed. The instructor guides attendees through a comprehensive review of the topic being covered, including live practice. Sessions cover everything from full-length review, to high-yield MCAT topics, to open Q&A, and more.

Study Planning Tool

The way you prepare for the MCAT often depends on your objectives, study schedule and style. The easy-to-use study planning tool creates a personalized MCAT study plan for each of our students. This proprietary platform generates a detailed, day-by-day schedule to ensure you are successful on test day. Just answer a few questions about your timeline and availability, and the study planning tool builds a calendar customized specifically to your needs.

Whether you are a traditional undergraduate student, a non-traditional student or somewhere in between, the study planning tool adapts to the needs of all students. You can alter your schedule at any time by using the simple drag-and-drop feature, or completely regenerate a new study plan. This allows you to augment the core course curriculum with additional studying that fits your unique needs.

Notes

AAMC Resources

Since it is important for all students preparing for the MCAT to practice with material written by the actual test-makers, MCAT Test Prep includes one year of access to all of the online AAMC practice resources.

10 full-length MCAT practice tests and one half-length MCAT diagnostic test

Our 10 full-length practice exams, and one half-length diagnostic, were designed to provide you with the most realistic practice possible. Students have access to all of the functions on the official exam, providing them with a completely simulated test day experience. Even your score is representative of what you will see on the MCAT. After taking each practice test, you will understand how you performed in each section, broken down by AAMC’s topic area subcategories and cognitive skill categories. By providing you with answers and full explanations of each question, it is easy to learn from your mistakes. Know why the correct answer is the right choice when reviewing your results. The testing platform fully resembles the AAMC’s 2018 interface, including the new highlighting and strikeout features, keyboard shortcuts, color scheme, and more.

Online QBank

Get in-depth practice on each of the high-yield science topics on the MCAT with the online QBank, which includes nearly 2,000 passage-based and distinct science questions broken down into 28 subject-specific quizzes to help you isolate questions in your content areas of weakness.

Content review videos

Reinforce the knowledge being taught in the lesson videos, in-person sessions and office hours through our content review videos. You will have access to more than 100 content review videos covering high-yield topics, such as electrochemistry and buoyant force.

Test review videos

Students have access to review videos covering The Official Guide to the MCAT Exam, Official MCAT Sample Test, Official MCAT Practice Exam 1, Official MCAT Practice Exam 2, verbal passage review, and diagnostic. These videos are broken down by question sets and passages; each passage and distinct question set has its own video to make review even more granular.

9 MCAT prep books

All of the informative books and practice materials were written by the same top instructors who designed and teach the MCAT course. The six MCAT review books were written entirely for the 2019 MCAT. We combine an in-depth dive into the content with a focus on strategy because we know that students need both to succeed. In addition to the six completely revamped MCAT review books, students also receive the MCAT QBook with 2,000 discrete science questions, the MCAT Verbal Practice Book designed to give you more practice on the MCAT section students often find most difficult, and the MCAT Coursebook designed to be your companion as you work through your study plan.

One-on-One orientation

All students have the option to schedule a one-on-one orientation with one of our course guides. During this 15-minute session, you will get an introduction to the course platform and materials. Your course guide will answer any questions you have to make sure you are starting off on the right foot.

Daily support

All students have access to customer support seven days a week. Having trouble with your course platform? You can contact us via email and phone. Have a specific content question or a question about the MCAT exam? You can post in our online MCAT forum or email our MCAT support team and get a response from one of the instructors who built the course.
