Fall into the Garden
Delaware Master Gardeners
Saturday, October 3
9 am to 1 pm

Join us for a morning of learning designed for both novice and experienced gardeners. Featuring a variety of topics and an opportunity to network with gardeners including our expert Master Gardeners!

This year's program includes:

Right Plant, Right Place Instructor:  Nancy Bell
We will discuss the vital issues of light and moisture and how these impact selecting plants for your landscape. Four basic situations will be highlighted: sun/dry, sun/wet, shade/dry and shade/wet. Learning to select the right plant for the right place will help to ensure your future gardening success.

Gardening in a Changing Climate Instructor:  Ron Simpson
This presentation will examine the causes and effects of climate change, both globally and locally.  We will then look at impacts to Delaware gardeners and discuss localized solutions.  Lastly, this presentation will finish with a discussion on activities we can do to mitigate the impacts of climate change, beyond just our own gardens.

Virtual Garden Tours with the Delaware Master Gardeners
Join Master Gardeners in a virtual tour of their gardens.  In this light-hearted session, Master Gardeners will take you on a pictorial tour of their very different garden spaces.  They will reveal their favorite plants, “don’t ever plant” plants, and gardening successes and failures.  Along the way, they will share valuable gardening tips and discuss everything from backyard composting to garden design.  Together, they have countless years of experience gardening in Delaware.

Registrants will receive a zoom link and additional details to connect to our program by Friday, October 2.  Questions, concerns, please contact Carrie Murphy, Extension Educator, cjmurphy@udel.edu or 302-463-3106 (text preferred).

This program is brought to you by University of Delaware Cooperative Extension, a service of the UD College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, a land-grant institution, and the Delaware Libraries.
These institutions are equal opportunity providers. If you have special needs that need to be accommodated, please contact the office two weeks prior to the event.
