Christmas Tree Production Workshop, $15, Credits:  2 pest., June 2, 1-3 pm, Delaware Department of Agriculture Conference Room, 2320 S DuPont Highway, Dover, DE.  Learn to identify and control important insect pests and plant diseases that affect Christmas Tree Production.  Session limited to 16 participants.  Instructors:  Jill Pollok, Brian Kunkel, Jeff Brothers  

Invasive Plant Walk on the James F. Hall Trail, $15, Credits:  2 pest., June 9, 4-6 pm, Meet at the New Castle County Extension Office, 461 Wyoming Road, Newark, DE.  Join us to a walk along the James F. Hall Trail to see the impact of invasive plants in cultivated and natural areas. Learn to identify some of the main offenders and discuss control recommendations.  Session limited to 18 participants.  Instructors:  Susan Barton and Blake Moore

Pest and Beneficial Insect Walk in the UDBG, $15, Credits:  2 pest., June 16, 4-6 pm, University of Delaware Botanic Gardens, 531 S College Avenue, Newark, DE. Meet at the entrance to Fischer Greenhouse.  Learn to identify insect and disease pests, as well as beneficial insects in the landscape at the University of Delaware Botanic Gardens.  Find out what signs and symptoms are used to identify pests and diseases.  Session limited to 18 participants.  Instructors: Brian Kunkel, Jill Pollok, and Carrie Murphy

Pest and Beneficial Insect Walk at the Carvel Center, $15, Credits:  2 pest., June 22, 4-6 pm, Sussex County Extension Office, 16483 County Seat Highway, Georgetown, DE.  Learn to identify insect and disease pests, as well as beneficial insects in the landscape at the Sussex County Extension Office. Find out what signs and symptoms are used to identify pests and diseases.  Session limited to 18 participants.  Instructors: Brian Kunkel, Jill Pollok, and Tracy Wootten

T&O Sprayer and Rotary Spreader Calibration, $15, Credits:  2 pest. and 2 Nut. Mgmt., July 13, 4-6 pm, UD Paradee Center, Extension Office, 69 Transportation Cir. Dover, DE.  Come join us for a crash course on proper spreader and sprayer calibration relevant to T&O landscapes.  This is a hands-on course designed to walk you through every step of the calibration process.  Rotary spreaders, handheld sprayers, and backpack sprayers will be used during this event. Session limited to 18 participants.  Instructor: John Emerson

Hands-On Diagnostics, $15, Credits:  2 pest., July 22, 4-6 pm.  As we near the date for this short course we will email registrants with location details (in the laboratory or by Zoom).  Learn what signs and symptoms the Extension Specialists use to identify pests and diseases! Tips and techniques will be shared. Fresh and preserved specimens will be available to look at using hand lenses and microscopes.
